Prayer Call Blog
We all need encouragement and no matter how long you've been "journeying" with God, none of us can say that we know all there is to know. We read scripture, we listen to sermons, and we sing hymns, but do we truly understand what we are reading, listening to, or singing?

We welcome you to browse our prayer blog which ranges from topics about faith, life, biblical insight, and even delves deeper into scriptures, what they really mean. and how we can better apply them to our daily lives. We also use our blog as a workshop tool to come together as a group and discuss our diverse perspectives and experiences as it relates to the topics featured in our blog. Feel free to do the same. May God open up your knowledge, wisdom, and understanding as you read and discuss.
Happy Reading!

"What's in a Prayer?"
What's in a prayer? It's perhaps this very question that discourages many of us from partaking in the act of prayer. We often feel like we are not equipped enough or that our words are not 'grand' enough to get God's attention. God is not looking for a performance as it concerns our prayers.
He is looking for a sincere heart. Don't allow lack of confidence in your ability to pray stop you from talking to God. He wants to hear from you!

Faith and Patience (Part 2):
"POOF! There It Is!"
In Part One of "Faith and Patience", we began discussing the correlation between faith and patience. On this round, we will begin to discuss the impact that our patience has on our ability to wait and how the "Poof! There It Is" mentality that has emerged due to the modern 'get it in an instant' society that we live in has made patience seem far from possible. We also explore how our impatience doesn't just play a part in us losing our faith, but how it can also cause us to take actions that work in opposition of God's plan for us.

A "DON'T CEASE" Moment:
-BETTER-
It might hurt right now but AWAIT YOUR BETTER!
There might be some fear but AWAIT YOUR BETTER!
You might want to throw in the towel but AWAIT YOUR BETTER! Things might not look as clear as you want them to, but AWAIT YOUR BETTER! No matter what you face this week, don't lose hope, BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO GET BETTER! "DON'T CEASE"

GRACE & MERCY: (Rest Stop)
An Exploration into THE SAULS
THE APOSTLE & THE KING
As we've been discussing grace and mercy, one thing that we must recognize is that it is God's choice and God's choice alone. We all have moments when we may question how just God is when we compare the situations and outcomes of others pondering, "Why did God do it for this person and not for that person?" However, we must realize that in most cases, we never know the full story and quite frankly, God's decisions are not ours to judge. We must recognize that God sees things that we don't see, knows things that we don't know, and most importantly, He already knows what lies ahead. And please remember that no matter what God does, even when it seems unfair, HE IS ALWAYS JUST! We just HAVE TO TRUST HIS MOVES.

GRACE & MERCY (Part One)
We all want grace and mercy to be bestowed upon us, but do we truly understand what it is, how we obtain it, and most importantly can we give it as much as we expect to receive it? We all benefit from the grace and mercy that God freely gives to us therefore, we must be careful not to take it for granted, not to see it as our right, and not to hate on those who we may not think deserve it. Only God can judge.

AMEN!
"Luke 23:46-SEAL IT"
We use the word "AMEN" as a closing to our prayers.
We use the word "AMEN" to express our agreement toward something. However, the word "AMEN" holds significance that we sometimes fail to acknowledge and/or understand. Amen is meant to express "TRUTH, CERTAINTY, and FAITHFULNESS". We must make sure that our "AMEN" is not only forceful but grounded in faith, trust, and belief that God will deliver as promised. Pack some PUNCH in your "AMEN" and let it seal your prayers with confirmation that what you ask God for will be just that. Read On

ARISE!
Ever found yourself in an unfortunate place and God speaks to you and commands you to come forth and "FIGHT YOUR WAY OUT", but you're thinking maybe He stopped at the wrong house because clearly there is nothing about you that screams "WARRIOR"? There is nothing about your situation that yells, "CONQUERABLE"? Remember, God makes NO MISTAKES, so He didn't get it wrong when He CHOSE YOU! Fear is natural but do us both a favor, TRUST GOD, Let Him Guide You, allow your fear to be consumed by FAITH and simply ARISE! Your ability to do so affects us all! Read On

Good Deeds vs. GOD DEEDS
While some things may be a "good deed" it does not make it a "GOD DEED". Even if it is the right thing to do, doesn't mean that you're the one who's supposed to pick up the "burden". We must learn to seek God and ask what it is He requires of us. Who is He calling us to help. What people or causes is He assigning us to. We each have an "appointed assignment", but far too often, we are so busy playing Super- Hero to the world that the ones whom God have called us to save are waiting aimlessly. Don't confuse good deeds with GOD DEEDS and most importantly, don't think that good deeds are a passport to Heaven. You'll still need God's official stamp of approval to get in. Read On

Let Them Laugh!
Sometimes when we share our dreams with people or we find ourselves in unfortunate situations, those same people that we expect to be a source of comfort speak negatively over our circumstances. They laugh at what we say we will accomplish. They find humor in the situation that we find ourselves in. They laugh at our belief that we will conquer what we are facing. This can result not only in a blow to our confidence, but it can be discouraging. However, follow Jesus' example and "Let Them Laugh!" When "man" laughs at what God said you WILL do, they best be prepared to see you RISE! Read On

When Our Enemies Repent?:
"Go Home Jonah!"
They say, "what goes around, comes around". However, sometimes it seems like "what" gets lost on its way to pay back the person that hurt us. Even if we don't want to admit it, many of us have had that moment where we reflect on what our enemies have done to us and think "When are they going to get their pay back?" The truth is when we let God fight our battle that's not for us to worry about. Maybe they'll see the repercussion of their actions or maybe God has another plan. Regardless of what happens to them, our job is not to sit and wait for their destruction. And if you are waiting, I'm going to tell you like someone should have told Jonah..."Go Home!" Read On

Throw "Jonah" off the Boat
Ever found yourself in a storm due to the fault of someone else's behavior? Or has your disobedience caused those around you to be affected? While we may not like everything that God tells us to do, we must realize that we can't run from God because regardless of where we run, He will be right there with a storm and a whale to show us the way. Whether it's who you're "riding" with that's causing the storm or whether you brought the storm, somebody has to make a decision to "Throw JONAH off the Boat!"

FAITH, "FIRES", "PITS"
and Survival (Pt. 2)
None of Us are EXEMPT from "Spiritual Fires", those trials and tribulations that come to test our faith, our patience, and our trust in God. But whether you are caught in a "fire", thrown in a "pit", or you find yourself in a "Roaring Fire" such as the Lion's Den... Simply S.T.O.P.³, D.R.O.P.² and R.O.L.L.

FAITH, "FIRES", "PITS"
and Survival (Pt. 1)
Did a trial come along but instead of wavering, you chose to stand firm? You held on to your faith and you came out of the fire unharmed. Then "Uh Oh!", here comes a test like no other. Have you survived the "FIRE" only to lose your faith when you wound up in the "PIT"? Is your trust in God wavering depending on the circumstance? Trials are inevitable, don't make your TRUST IN GOD, "Optional"!

"FILLING your FEELINGS!"
Ever had that moment where you realize you are “feeling” a certain kind of way and you don’t know how you got there? All you know is that life is too hectic right now and you are too drained to figure it out. You say, “You know what, I’ll just pour myself into something else that will make me forget about it!” Sounds harmless, but is it really? CAUTION:
Be careful what you are “FILLING” your “FEELINGS” with!

"Practice What You Preach?!"
"You keep telling me this and telling me that…..Practice What You Preach." Do these lyrics sound familiar? Better yet, does the phrase "Practice what You Preach" sound familiar? Well, if you've ever given advice that you did not take or if someone has ever given you advice that they did not act upon, there is a possibility that you've heard it or used it your own self. But is it really possible for any of us to "practice what we preach"? Hmmm…Let's Explore. Read On
