Salvation through Prayer

Salvation is defined as:
•preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss,
•deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by Christians, to be brought about by faith in Christ,
•deliverance from the power and effects of sin.

We often look to people, places, and things to find salvation. We use these things as an escape from those things that bind us. But true salvation can only come through the Savior. Jesus gave His life to free us from all our sin. Through Him we can find refuge.

Because we are human, we constantly find ourselves on the road to repentance. We replace salvation with temptations that will give us temporary pleasure. However, God still shows us His grace. We know that God is our only true Savior but sometimes it feels like God takes too long to deliver us. The truth is we are not always ready to be rescued. Salvation may not appease you in the way that brings you immediate satisfaction like the things of the world. But the difference is that the things of the world change, they become fads, they don’t last. However, God remains the same and the effects of His presence in your life remain permanent. He does not change like the seasons. Is it hard to sometimes seek God first? Of course. Our emotions sometimes speak first. They give us an immediate release from what consumes us, but it does not bring about the real contentment that we need to soar.

As you make decisions this week, think first. Will I make decisions based on what I feel, based on my limited knowledge or will I trust God who knows all, to give me His direction?

While His path may have twists and turns He knows where the road leads. As you pray, seek God for repentance, confess of your sins and ask Him to deliver you from those things that bind you and most importantly be willing to submit to how He brings about the change that you seek.

Is your lack of patience hindering your ability to increase your faith and make it a consistent effort? Many times we think that we don't have faith because we just aren't equipped to do so but have you ever pondered the idea that it may not be your faith but it may be your patience that is the real problem. Here we start to discuss the correlation between faith and patience.

It creeps up when you least expect it. It is so slick and so invisible that if you're not careful, it will take control and before you know it you're trying to shake this feeling that you can't describe. It's making you doubt that what you want will ever happen and it has you feeling like you have no energy left. Let me introduce you to that slick emotion known as discouragement but be careful not to entertain him. Read this post and kick discouragement to the curb.

Does your circle motivate you or decrease your energy? Are the people that you roll with pushing you forward or pulling you back? Are you starting to realize that maybe it's time to detach from people in your life that are interfering with your destiny?
