"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times

and every situation.

The Lord be with you all"

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Regardless of our troubles during both good and bad times, we are to trust God with all of our concerns. It is also important that we keep each other in prayer and pray earnestly and with sincerity of heart. Pray in faith that God will act on your behalf and if you have doubt ask God to relieve you of any doubt that you might have.

Find a trusting individual to be your prayer partner and ask them to connect with you in prayer. If you are struggling with particular sins or temptations find someone whom you can trust and confide in and ask them to pray with you.

Most importantly, ask God for forgiveness and allow Him to rid you of any bad habits that may cause you to fall astray. At times it may be extremely difficult to pray when you are in despair. In these moments ask God to calm your thoughts and to give you peace.

James 5:13-16 reads:

13 Is anyone among you in trouble?

Let them pray. Is anyone happy?

Let them sing songs of praise.

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Below are three prayers excerpted from the bible.

Feel free to use them as a guide as you allow

God to lead you in your own prayers.

Although these individuals

battled different circumstances,

each of their prayers were powerful.

Biblical Prayers

       Hezekiah's Prayer

When Hezekiah was told by the prophet Isaiah that he was going to die, this is the prayer that he prayed unto the Lord:

"I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart,

and have done that which is good in thy sight.."

And Hezekiah wept bitterly

(2 Kings 20:3)

After Hezekiah's Prayer

2 KINGS 20: 4-7

4 Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him:

5 “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.

6 I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.’”

7 Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a poultice of figs.” They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.

Psalm 121 1-8

Psalm 121 can be used as a prayer of trust, as we trust God

to protect and to sustain us regardless of what we may face.

A song of ascents

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,

from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made

heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:

he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither

slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy

shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day,

nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:

he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and

thy coming in from

this time forth, and even for evermore.
